Connecting People, Creating Community!


We meet on the first and third Monday’s of each month. We gather at 6:00PM, downstairs in the Carnegie Public Library, 120 Jefferson Street. Our meetings are open to the public and you’re welcome to attend. We’d love to see you there.


Monte Vista’s Cinco de Mayo 2024 Street Festival is happening on Saturday, May 4th. Proceeds from this year’s event will be donated to the Monte Vista Emergency Food Bank and other local organizations. Click Here for more information on the kick-off downtown festival this year.


We’re assisting the City of Monte Vista along with numerous other local organizations & groups for the Faith Hinkley Veteran’s Memorial Park Fundraiser event on July 27th in Chapman Park.


SoCo Suds & Sounds, featuring the Poor Boy Car Show is slated for Saturday, August 17th. More information is coming as we move forward on this grand event in Chapman Park.

Two new additions to our artistic bicycle rack project are now available. We’re always looking into revitalization and other grant program opportunities.

About The OptiMystics

The OptiMystics Citizens Action Network organized to support groups, individuals, and businesses to foster economic development through social and cultural events and other activities. We endeavor to assist in the revitalization of the Monte Vista business district in order to create vibrant public spaces, resulting in an improved local economy, a thriving and sustainable quality of life, and a diverse and positive regional and community image.

Downtown Revitalization Project Phases

This a rough outline of planned phases for one of the downtown revitalization projects we’ve been working on. We are currently fundraising and pursuing various grants to continue with Phase 1, and appreciate your support of our efforts.

Phase 1 – The 100 & 200 Blocks of Adams Street. Lighting, Awnings, Signs & Painting.

Lighting – New LED lights installed – 4/20/21

Phase 2 – Highway 160 from Dairy Queen to the Chamber of Commerce.

Phase 3 – Highway 160 from both ends of town, working inward. (Tentative).

Phase 4 – Address other needs in Monte Vista town and the Highway 285 & Highway 15 inroads to town. (Tentative).
