CAR SHOW INFORMATION:

The Poor Boy Car Club handled everything related to the car show. Last year they had nearly 80 vehicles and around the same number this year. Once again, music for the day was provided by Gabe Duran of Final Touch Auto Tinting.

At 4PM, the car show went on the road, and did drive around at the Home Lake Veteran’s Center.

OTHER INFORMATION:

It was another wonderful weekend to spend exploring Monte Vista. There were unique opportunities that took place both at the Beer Fest & Car Show and elsewhere. Click here to learn more about lodging in and around Monte Vista. And click here to learn more about local restaurants in this area.

Here’s a sampling of what’s happened over the weekend:

Monte Vista Parks & Rec hosted a corn hole tournament during the Beer Fest. They raffled off a set of corn hole boards. This was a great way to help support our local Parks & Recreation Department. Thanks to Jaime Hertado for setting this up.

Hall’s Way Escape Room Adventures is the first mobile escape room adventure of its kind in the San Luis Valley and was at the Beer Fest. Participants got to dive into a new escape room adventure.

Special commemorative T-Shirts & stainless steel tumblers were available at the Beer Fest & Car Show and will be available online in the near future.

The Novel Nomads are an American Tribal Fusion style belly dance troupe from the SLV. They gave belly dancing demonstrations throughout the day.

The San Luis Valley Sword Guild is the first HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts) club in the San Luis Valley. They put on engrossing demonstrations throughout the day.

Friday mornings during the summer months, you can still visit our local Monte Vista Farmer’s Market. Stop by the Fassett Parking Lot from 9AM until 1PM. Offering seasonal Colorado and New Mexico produce and locally handcrafted items to support our local community.

The 2022 season finale Third Friday Art Walk took place downtown Friday evening on Adams Street. Hosted by local business, FaeMoon Wolf Designs, the street was blocked off for local artists, art activities, belly dancers, and live music, from 4 until 8PM. Artists and crafters set up in front of local businesses throughout the downtown area with many retail stores running Art Walk specials.
