Saturday, August 17, 2024 was the day to celebrate Monte Vista’s fourth annual SoCo Suds & Sounds event in Chapman Park.
This year we teamed up with Valley Veteran’s ReCreation to create an even bigger event.
And we worked with the Poor Boy Car Club once again this year, as they celebrated their 13th annual Classic Car Show.

ENTERTAINMENT:
Once again this year, the LOR Foundation provided the funding for the musical entertainment. BIG THANKS to Ivette and the LOR Foundation (Monte Vista).
Ms KAIS Academy of Performing Arts put on a spectacular demonstration at 2PM.
The Monte Vista Youth Cheerleaders along with the Del Norte Youth Spirit Squad also put on a demonstration around 2PM. These spectacular young cheerleaders were a hit when they performed.
Instrumentalist & composer Marc Albion took the stage after the demonstrations and played until around 3:45PM.
Absolution took the stage about 4PM and played until the close of the event at 6PM.
Sound for this year’s bands and performances was provided by Ken Dawg Entertainment, LLC. Thanks Kenny for being our sound person this year.
Cornhole play was available all day during the event, complements of the City of Monte Vista. There wasn’t an actual tournament this year, but people still had fun playing.
Valley Veterans ReCreation raffled off some very cool equipment too.
